This is a fun short story based on the Dark Souls video game series.  I never played the game myself, but I did watch the D&D television show growing up, being that I have played many forms of role-playing games. Both table top and digital format.

I liked the story, the approach is something that a gamer always thinks is fun, but I fear it would get aggravating if it actually happened.  But nonetheless entertaining!

The cover art matches the interior art and is done quite well.  The baddies match the classic baddies in the games of the 80’s and early 90’s.  The one thing that sticks out is it appears to be a mix of both drawn artwork and placed imagery, which can distract from the story if you let it.

Overall the story and art are solid and could lead to an interesting series if you are into the real life meets gaming life scenario!

Growing up in the 80s and 90s I grew up as an eclectic geek, a fact that still holds true today. I grew up watching all the classic cartoons of the 80's and had many an adventures with the toys that went with. Played tabletop RPG's and still enjoy computer gaming as adulting allows. On top of making time to read comics, and spend time with family and friends.
