I grew up loving all things geek. I started reading and collecting comics when I was 8. My personal collection has roughly 8,000 books in it. When I’m not doing something geek-related I love spending time with my amazing wife and kids, gaming, and working on cross stitch projects.
Growing up in the 80s and 90s I grew up as an eclectic geek, a fact that still holds true today. If I am not adulting then I can readily be found doing something geek-related. When I am not doing something geek-related I enjoy spending time with my wonderful family and friends!
Since I was a young child I enjoyed painting and drawing, it’s a wonderful means of self-expression. Equally, I have a long-standing interest in the sci-fi and horror genres. I post regularly on Instagram as gritstonearts. My current postings are from my first attempt at a slipstream-based graphic novel, First Person Revocation.
I have always been fascinated by the way people tell stories. Whether it's in comics, movies, or songs, it amazes me the way that people can make it all work. I’m happy to say I finally wrote a story of my own and it feels great to join a community of people who are doing the same thing. I'm excited about my opportunity to read other independent creator's work.
I'm an indie rapper, writer, and founder of Flock Rebel, a lifestyle and clothing brand. I grew up in Southern California, reading, rapping, and writing every chance I got. The passion it takes to create inspires me. I'm always excited to discover great art, and I love sharing amazing things.

My name is Jeffrey Johnson, I’m a happily married first-time "Graphic Novelist" (that’s a thing right?). I’ve spent time in the past as a pre-school teacher, videographer, and currently, I pay the bills by working as a CrossFit coach. I’m a bit obsessed with fictional storytelling, which is why I love reading and reviewing yours while also crafting my own!
My name is Jon Velez the owner/manager of Encased Comics. I started Encased Comics with the sole purpose of selling graded comics, but the focus has shifted as I wanted to do more for indie and small press comic creators. I am originally from New Jersey but have now made San Diego, CA my home. I am married and have two rescue dogs named Buddy and Phillip. When I am not doing things for Encased Comics, I am working on my doctorate degree in Higher Education and work for a medical school. I am hoping for the day to open a small brink and mortar to showcase creators' work and connect collectors to their graded comics. I enjoy photography, poetry writing, short story writing, and computer report. My favorite heroes are Batman and The Flash, but as I read more non-mainstream comics I am sure to add more favorites to the list. My favorite villains are The Joker and Reverse-Flash, which I would love the chance to write a screenplay focusing on Reverse-Flash origins as not all villains start out as one.
