About the Book:
This book deals with the music industry and how it affects children. The dad inserts his child into a singing competition, and also shows the side effects of what happens when that life takes over.
Reviewer’s Notes:
The cover art is done well enough, but it looks like something that a young adult would do just starting off. I think that if they continue with the effort they have great potential. That said if the creator was going for this style for the simple fact of it relating to kids, then great.
The interior art matches the style of the cover art. It is well done and well thought out, but is definitely beginner work. Do I think that there is room for improvement? Absolutely. The characters even in their simple form convey all the correct emotions that match the words they are expressing. Which is part of the battle to get the story to move along.
The story itself is well enough, but it feels like a slight to the child music industry. There are two main characters in this story, a dad and a daughter. The dad puts his daughter into a music competition for the sole purpose of ruining it. Because he does not like that they are redoing the songs for the new generation.
What makes it a slight in my opinion, is the fact that dad wants to stop the competition, by having his daughter enter it. It feels like the author is using this story as more of a complaining platform rather than just telling a good story. If the point of the story is to highlight the trials and tribulations of what the child goes through in the child music industry, then they make that point towards the end of the story. But it doesn’t start out that way or feel that way by the end.
Overall, I think that the author has a lot of potential when looking at this comic. But I think that they should try to tell a unique story or a unique twist on something that has already been released into the world, rather than use the book to show their dislike for the child music industry.

Growing up in the 80s and 90s I grew up as an eclectic geek, a fact that still holds true today. If I am not adulting then I can readily be found doing something geek-related. When I am not doing something geek-related I enjoy spending time with my wonderful family and friends!
