About the Book:

Cinderella has finally made her way from the fantasy world back to ours. To make ends meet she takes on work as a hitman. This line of work is perfect for the “serial killer” princess… until she gets her latest assignment. The Queen of Hearts may not make for such an easy target.

Reader’s Notes:

Cindy Moore, A.K.A. “Cinderella”, is one of my favorite characters in the Grimm Universe. She’s not necessarily the sharpest sword in the armory; but she makes up for that with commitment and determination. Most importantly, she makes me laugh. Her viewpoints, however misinformed or misguided, make sense in a way that tickles me.

I liked how easy it was to fall into this story. You don’t need to be a subject matter expert on the Grimm universe to understand what is transpiring. When there are references to events from other books, we get very good notes from the editor.

I liked how this cover is done. Instead of getting a teaser of something that never happens we get a preview of coming attractions. This cover promises a knock down, drag out battle between Cinderella – and the story delivers!

I enjoyed the artwork on the interior pages. We get crisp lines with plenty of detail. The coloring makes this story jump off of the page. I liked Cinderella’s use of a box as a disguise.

This book isn’t the “Great American Novel”.  It doesn’t pretend to be. It embraces a bit of whimsy while giving us an action packed story. As a geek on a budget I would say that Cinderella Vs. the Queen of Hearts #1 is well worth the price of admission. We get plenty of laughs, a new perspective on the Queen of Hearts, and terrific artwork.
